Jus Accardo - Infinity

"Love from here to infinity."

First off, Kori is just as badass as I expected her to be.
But
Being raised by an all sharp-edged-up-tight general who trained her in an ever-prepared-hold-your-head-up-high attitude and she didn't even learn how to swim?
It is just me who see the irish bull?
But trying not to ride this horse, I should say the protagonist is Okay.
If nothing else is anyway.

“This is a bad idea,”
“Most of the fun stuff usually is.”

It is just that the whole story feels kinda weak and groundless. Jumping into other dimensions would not be irksome in other cases. If we could talk about frigging jumping dimensions here, I would give my blessings for sure. However, all these fellows do is they chase some lunatic across the country so as not to let Kori's organs blow into bits and pieces there and there. They are nailing Jell-O to a tree as Dylan is always a step ahead of them, aren't they? Oh! Come to think of it, Kori's has no problem to fall for all the "time-travelling" fudge these two random guys out of nowhere cook up. Nice one, really.

"If I ever find a guy willing to put up with my array of irritating habits and low tolerance temper." - Kori and I are soulmates.

Cade, dear Cade. I put you at the bottom of my book boyfriend list. No offense. But I don't know anything about him except the obvious obsession with avenging the love of his life in their reality who happens to wear the exact same face as Kori's on Earth. What a coincidence! Accordingly, I don't buy the so-called "passion" between the two of them. The attraction, the kisses, the desire are so.... how can I call it? Cheap. I am used to real relationships. Not a faint imprint that of another universe.

"Telling us not to do something was the fastest way to nudge us toward doing it." - this book speaks to me :)

My last words to this book

I am going to live in vivid colors. ;)

Jus Accardo - A Darker Past

"One of the most important things I’d learned, though, is when things that shouldn’t happen do happen, the demon shit eventually hits the fan."

Prologue

Hell in a hailstorm! The Monster Masher is back in the saddle! And Jessie is way too ready to bring trouble all over her head. Not that I've expected anything tranquil or rational on the part of Jessie...

"Mom kept telling me I acted first and thought second. She was dead on. The sad part? I never seemed to learn from my mistakes."

To make life more rainbow and unicorn-ish, it wouldn't be her if she happened to unleash the lieutenant of the Shadow Realm on the untutored society. What an empty brusque hole of space would it be without some teeny-tiny troubles in paradise? Especially if your personal hottie were there ready to pull you out from the edge of the pit?

“No one ever told you? Nothing in life that’s worth anything is ever easy."

I adore her for her cut-the-bullshit way of life. The world needs more of this kind of heroine. Edgy, die-hard straightforward and full of passion. The yummy make-out-sessions with Lukas is icing on the cake.

I'm wondering if I could make a living by chasing demons and exercising slimy ghost. That would be a thriving business, let alone the constant fusion of adrenaline...maybe in an alternative universe.

After-the-thrill

I am a planet-sized buttercup-boulder rolling at warp-speed down a steep hill smashing awesomeness-ville.

Jus Accardo - Darker Days

“I set my own course through the ocean of life.”
—Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Oh yeah. Bad-boy-vibe was off the charts.

Lukas Scott was one big bundle of surprises wrapped in a nice, swoontastic package. Sometimes I am wondering how on earth I could be so lucky that such butterflies-in-the-stomach-inducing guys are just there, making each day brighter, perfectly made for me. Bad boys are always appealing, no matter what. Especially if they embody the seven sins of the world. Oh my! He totally makes me buttercup-shape Jell-O.

"Very few things in life couldn’t be made better with chocolate. Well, chocolate and sharp weapons."

It should be made into a damn-good Hollywood block-buster. Thrilling actions, nasty poltergeists, sexy guys—aka slushy piece of Strawberry Smoothie. Nothing but some kicking lines and hot protagonists would make the trick and bumm! Greatest paranormal of our time. I hope Santa will grant my special request...

"Gah! How could you want to strangle someone and kiss him at the same time? Craps. The truth came stomping through the room like a were on steroids…"

Jessie reminds me Jessica from the Mediator (put that on top of your TBR pile), so I welcomed her accordingly. Ghost-butt kicking, impulsive, I'll-survive-even-the-world's-end vibe makes her my number one heroine. She plunges headfirst in all shady business and she likes playing with fire which results in getting the short end of a stick in most cases. I love for her man of mettle-ish ball of fire. Badass.

"Hold your nose, jump in feet first, and think about it later."

I have to admit that I have a thing for Damien, as well. Dark, demonic kind of hottie. Smashing personality. I'd totally call him for some ghost-butt kicking workout in my house...

“I doubt there’s anything in heaven and earth that could be better than this.”

Things get more interesting as she made a deal with devil, and won the Wrath-free-Jackpot—aka sweet-Lukas-honey. Can't wait the next book!

How I feel now

I'm free-falling into the abyss of swooning and excited chirps. There is no way out.

"He had a really nice voice. Warm and deep. It reminded me of hot cocoa—and there was nothing nicer than hot cocoa."

Jus Accardo - Tremble

Kale and Dez are back! It's been a long time since I managed to lay my hands on the third volume of the Denazen series but afterwards a hell of blissful days has arrived! xoxoxo

A woman of few wordsa live wire

Dez is one of my favourite kick-ass heroines. She's overly confident, sarcastic, and just a little bit crazy. She has a tendency to make waves and get a blow in first rather than ask questions nicely. The ability of taking care of herself extremely appeals to me. The actions of her carpe diem policy usually put a thorn in her pillow but there's no time to lose on second-thoughts or regrets. An ex-adrenaline-junkie whose older life full of swirling parties seems so trivial now compared to the deep water in which she happens to find herself from time to time. She lives a crazy life but it's more than okay for her.

A hot potato

"I’m going to fix it. He’s in there—I know it. I’ll make this right.”
“And if you can’t?”
I lifted my head and met her gaze head-on. “That’s just not an option for me.”

She comes hell or high water just to get Kale back who has been apparently brain-washed by one hell of an institute: the Denazen. After several months of captivity, he takes after the supreme killer machine of the Capitolium, Peeta Mellark-style. Being unable to put Dez in the right place of his mind, he's intended to terminate her. For good.
Their love is luckily not a heart of glass so they're gonna pull through together eventually. Or at least I keep my fingers crossed...

Race against time

"Some people were just so damn untrusting."

Despite the fact that Kale makes her mouth waters (which makes two of us) everytime she sets her eyes on him, she's well aware of the danger he means to her. Instead of twirling her fingers, however, she doesn't let Kale slip out of her hands if it's up to her. How about kidnapping him and sheperding his thoughts in the right course for a starter? Oh! And don't forget about her eighteenth birthday that could easily become her death sentence if it's not for an antidote . Finding the cure should be a priority but who dares to determine her to-do list? Either way, her clock is ticking. Tick-tack.

A watched pot never boils

"It was the sound of his voice. Deep and rich like warm caramel coffee, each word a soothing sip that sent the endorphins in my brain jumping."

With bulging eyes, she looks out for Kale in case he's showing any progress with his memories. So far, not so good. Much worse he got hooked up with the soulless monster's daughter, Kiernan. Let alone Kale is still trying to figure out whether he should kill her. Or not. Take him as a boyfriend. Free for sale.

"You told me once that I was your lifeline. That I calmed the storm in your head."

Anyway, she won't give up on him. Ever. This is a whole messed-up situation. Crackers on crazy as Kale would say. Such a sweet innocuous guy. Especially when he opens his mouth and says things like that. Luckily he starts to get certain things such as their love cannot be wiped out by some mind-messing Six-weirdo. The intense chemistry plus the head-wrapping fight-to-death stunts result in a damn-sparkling firework. Thanks heaven it's not over yet. Three books but there's still more to the Denazen world. Can you keep up?

"He wasn’t your average chocolate chip cookie. No. Kale was a mocha cookie with coffee-flavored chips and a gooey caffeinated center. He was one of a kind—and I wouldn’t have changed that for anything on earth."

Favourite scene

Beside all the smoldering make-up sessions, it's when Dez in the elevator...this could be made one hell of an action movie!

Jus Accardo - Rules Of Survival

If you want to survive, you have to follow the rules...

Rule 1

Always take the time to fully assess a situation before making a move.

Rule 2

Do it yourself because no one else is going to do it for you.

And the most sacred rule:

Never return to the scene of the crime.

Mikayla has been on the run for all of her life since her mother was one of the top five most sought after criminals for the last ten years. Now that she was murdered, Mikayla ruturns to the crime scene to find a piece of evidence that might reveal the killer's identity and prove her innocence. Though the fugures don't add up and happens to find herself at feud with two cunning bounty hunters. That is her first mistake she has commited for a very long time. The second is that she left behind the letter which included the truth about her mother's ruthless killer. Now she's in the toils with these fortune-seeking guys: Pat who seems to know more about her mother than he admits and who has been after them since she was born, plus don't forget about Shaun to whom she is more attracted than she's supposed to.

"I was dynamite looking for a place to explode."

Kayla has always been a survival after the thorough training of her mother. Until Shaun catches her off guard and ties them together with a shackle so as she can't make a bolt for freedom at her earliest convenience. It doesn't help either that the weird stick-to-each-other couple are on the run round the clock as Shaun is not the only hunter set upon her. Actually several creepy spooks are after them eager to take her down in exchange of a great amount of money.

In the course of their run-away they cannot decide whether to kill each other or kiss each other. Both of them show their vulnaribility because it's quite unimaginable to hide anything in there awkward hook-up.

Can't picture to myself how on earth are two human beings able to stand one another this close for long. I mean it's even hard to tolerate in an everyday occurence when the other rum cove is at arm's lenght. What if above all you have to drag him to the bathroom when you feel the urge to sing on top of your voice out of tune? It's violation of the anything-I-feel-like-it-beacuse-people-can't-judge-me-bathroom-privacy code.

Chemistry prevails against common sense

Evidently she can't resist Shaun's leathal charm and every time they start to make out a pscycho ruins the idill. The typical victim-falling-for her-kidnapper syndrome. Even if the guy has a short fuse and tends to beat up everyone who dare to touche a tender spot. These folks like him usually end up as a wife-beater. But who doesn't have a crush on bad guys...

"Never let your guard down."

"Don’t enter any place that you can be trapped."

"Don’t trust anyone…"

Stick to the rules

Not that a sloppy ending should be carved into stones, but nor does a lame-all-messed-up ending. Yep, she gets to know her biological father. Yep, she gets out of trouble with only bumps and bruises. And yep, she finds her mum's killer. But. Shaun's lied to her. He has had the key to the handcuffs for the whole time and she can't come around it. It's possible she hasn't placed confidence in the right person. Living for the moment instead of making plans is a process though. Carpe diem.

"Bad choices. That’s what had brought us here tonight. Bad choices had nearly destroyed us all. It was time to take a hard look at things and start making good decisions."

Qs but no As

I keep wandering why there's a guy on the cover. Is Mikayla, incidentally the heroine of the story, a chick or did I miss out on something relevant? I have a feeling I'll never know...

I am aware of the shady dealings her mother is mixed up in but what kind of shady things? They don't stop talking about how smart-ass and shrewd she was but I keep guessing why... And I also think she's sort of overrated.

Can't wrap my mind around it

Shaun. Is. Not. Good. For. Her. Or for anyone, as a matter of fact. I'm sorry to say but he has a foul mouth, a give-it-a-shit attitude and a bullying proneness. And I have never disliked a male lead so far. That really sucks. He has deserved the title of the Least-Favored Macho-Man Protagonist on my list. Though it's quite an achievement, I think. Congrats.

How I feel now

I kinda expected more.
