Cassandra Clare - City of Bones

By the angel...

By the magical influence of the series I dove into the mesmerizing world of the Shadowhunters and can't stop being a total freak-out, actor-chasing, bonkers fangirl ever since. Something never changes...

“It will bring you light even among the darkest shadows of this world and others.”

I would be pretty much dead nuts if the universe decided I'm gonna rock it as a shadowhunter killing demons and all for the greater good. I mean all the sword-wielding, arrow-shooting, whip-lashing-badassness would stand me in good stead one day really. Especially next to a thick-set daredavil like Jace. We would make an awsome two-member avengers-group purging the world from evil and darkness. Sounds good.

“You know,” Clary said, “most psychologists agree that hostility is really just sublimated sexual attraction.”
“Ah,” said Jace blithely, “that might explain why I so often run into people who seem to dislike me.”

Jace is not the beau ideal of modesty exactly but master of mocking and showing off. But that's why I like him anyway. He and tinder-box Clary make up an explosive combination. I feel like I need a bullet-proof awning above my head every single time they talk. I wonder how they end up making out eventually. Normally they wouldn't stand a chance unless we consider the thin line seperating hate and love. Then I totally get it.

Blood calls for blood

The bomb of this whole damn-it-I-was-attracted-to-you-badly-but-it-turned-out-you're-my-sister/brother thing is thrown in my face and I cannot really do anything about it. Neither do Jace and Clary, I guess. I wish they just did a DNA test. Life is though people. Don't complicate it more in vain. Jees.

That's how it is

You may expect another vampire-werewolf storyline being dead as a dodo, but it's quite the opposite. It's cool when all the mysterious blood-sucking, furry creatures throw a party in a world within the world. Except for the fact that I wouldn't like to become a rat like Simon did...
